I called to confirm booking and let them know I was checking in late and they hung up on me twice because the didn't understand my accent and once they did they said that I wasn't booked in even those I was. The room smelt like cigarettes and weed. The cleaner left the lights on and curtains open while we where out , we didn't get back till late and when we did security was out side our room as he spotted a man standing outside our room looking in our room. He chased him off. I do appreciate what the security guy did, he was very good at his job but I didn't feel safe after that and would not recommend this place to anyone especially a single women. Also a large cockroach was spotted on the curtains luckily my partner was there to catch it as it was huge! A very over priced and unsatisfactory experience. Thinking of requesting a refund.

***Long, but relevant. Do not stay here under any circumstances!!!*** I was unable to do much more than shower before being removed from the room by the Austin Police Department. Apparently, this particular room (as well as one other in the facility) was the target of an undercover sting operation designed to arrest a couple of drug dealers whose product was responsible for several deaths the previous week. I was obviously not arrested, however I was detained for questioning for several hours while the APD tore the room apart (this is to include all of my personal items as well). The lead detective actually stated before we even began that he was quite certain I had no involvement whatsoever with the drug dealers, however due to the severity of the crimes and the scope of the undercover operation, they needed to be 100% positive on every single detail. All of the detectives and officers I encountered were extremely professional, considerate, and sympathetic to my situation which came down to simply being in the VERY wrong place at exactly the VERY wrong time. They apologized several times for the inconvenience and for the amount of time the process was taking. They also fed me a fairly excellent sub sandwich when they had all sent out for delivery; something which they certainly did not have to do. They could have left me hungry or given me a dry bologna sack lunch which is what all of the others in booking were given. I have no quarrels or complaints of any kind with the APD and was extremely impressed with all of the men and women I met that evening. This is the exact opposite to the treatment I received from the Motel 6 staff, which I would describe as the rudest, most insulting, and downright unbelievably stupid group of people I have ever encountered.

I was not overly pleased about having been rented a room which was the target of a major undercover drug sting operation. You read that correctly. The room was apparently loaded with huge amounts of heroin and another extremely powerful and deadly opiate called fentanyl. I was detained for several hours for official questioning simply to confirm what the police already knew; which was of course that I had no knowledge of the situation and had never met the two individuals ultimately arrested for running the drug operation. When I did finally return to the motel grounds after being held downtown at police headquarters, I was not in the best of moods, but the treatment I received from the staff was enough to send me into the nuclear zone. That is if it hadn't been so dumbfoundingly stupid. As it was, I left the motel feeling numb and a little sick to my stomach. The police went through every single inch of the room, which unfortunately included all of my things as well. The woman working the front desk did manage to locate my belongings which the police had left with them. (Though, this was apparently a major task for her, as it took 15 minutes or so, and I was the lone customer in the lobby at the time.) In addition to asking her about my belongings, I also asked that I be given a refund of my money. This seemed to me a resonable request given that myroom turned out to be a drug den, and I was able to use it for all of about a hour before it was raided by a dozen or so APD officers and detectives. I was apparently wrong about that. After the exhausting task of walking 15 feet to the back room and collecting my belongings, the front desk clerk stood there staring at me vacantly for a minute before asking if there was anything else I needed.

We were woken up both nights by other guests that were being loud and arguing for about two hours. My kids were scared of the loud banging on the walls from both sides of our room.

The front desk clerk was VERY good, too good for a Motel 6. Please go get a job at a real hotel and you will go far! I doubt he will be there long. Short walk across the parking lot to Denny's or 7-11.

Sometimes cheap is a complement, sometimes its a pejorative. It isn't good cheap.
